TOGGENBURG and NIGERIAN DWARF CROSSBRED GOATS
We Crossbreed Toggenburg Does with Nigerian Dwarf Bucks
These are photos of a Toggenburg doe with her 2 kids: the white one is a doeling and the mixed color one is a buckling.

Why Crossbreed? Hybrid Vigor
The
most important reason is hybrid vigor. Cross bred goats are hardier and healthier
than regular bred goats. Plus Toggenburg goats breed only in the fall and Nigerian
Dwarf goats breed all year. With a hybrid doe, you will probably be able to breed
all year. Toggenburg goats are medium size goats and of course, Nigerians are
small. With a half breed you get a smallish medium goat that is great for a small
farm. Nigerian Dwarf goats all look different. Toggenburgs look pretty much the
same. With a cross you get a goat that looks different.
Nigerian Dwarf Buck
The photo of the all brown goat is the father of the cross breed babies.
